If you are a graduate student with research results, consider participating in the annual competition for The Herpetologists' League Graduate Research Award.
Up to five prizes are possible each year. This competition is more demanding than those of other herpetological societies, but the chances of winning something are higher, and you will get a lot out of the experience whether you win the first prize or not.

Graduate students needing funds in support of their research are encouraged to apply for the E.E. Williams Research Grant. Named in honor of HL's first Distinguished Herpetologist, these awards can provide up to $1000 for research in each of five subdisciplines within biology.

Thanks to the generosity of Larry Jones and Rob Lovich, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of their book, Lizards of the American Southwest (2009, Rio Nuevo Press), goes to support herpetological field research in the American Southwest. HL student members have the chance to compete for a single $1000 award each year. Click here to download a file containing grant criteria and an application form.
